The knee is a highly stable joint with many ligaments for support. However, the knee is also a tight joint especially during a dysfunctional or painful season. You may notice that your knee has begun swelling very easily, this is due to the tightness of the joint combined with being a joint that is in a dependent position (below the heart) for the vast majority of the day. Knee pain can come from a variety of sources including: Ligamentous Tears, knee sprains, and Osgood-Schlatter’s Disease to name a few. The goal of treatment is to restore mobility, abolish pain, and prepare the knee for the amount of force that you are going to put it through.
In the vast majority of cases, the knee can be returned to normal without having to go through surgery (see Knee Arthroplasty). Give us some information in the form below to see if you could avoid surgery and get back to doing what you love.
