Lower back pain effects around 70% of Americans throughout their life. Once you have back pain once, your likelihood of having it again is around 90%. The lumbar spine is a complicated structure that is designed to support the torso, transfer weight and force to and from the lower extremities, and protect the spinal cord. There are joints in the rear portion of each vertebrae that help to control the movement of the spine, and there are discs between each individual bone that cushion and control force applied to the spine.
In 68% of cases, lower back pain will resolve on it’s own within 6weeks. However, because it will mostly likely come back we strive to teach people how prevent their back pain from returning and how to self-treat it if it does return. Also, our goal is to try to beat the 6week mark while also reducing the amount of pain you have during this time.
